Principal photography for the Kenneth Branagh-directed Thor movie starts in Los Angeles in mid-January.

Thor is scheduled to hit cinemas on May 20th, 2010 which by my calculations is ages away.

Seriously, I cannot wait for Thor, I really hope they don’t screw it up. The cast is awesome as is its director, (I don’t know why I’m so happy that Branagh is directing…) while the source material is rich enough for a truly epic fantasy masterpiece.

Like I said, I just hope they don’t screw it up by dumbing it down by trying too hard to link it to the propesed Avengers movie.

Keep Thor self-contained, that’s what I want…
