final_fantasy_13_sc29Final Fantasy XII producer Yoshinori Kitase has revealed that Sqaure Enix has no plans to release any downloadable content for their upcoming Final Fantasy 13.

Talking to CVG, this is what he said…

“Unfortunately, it has been decided that no DL contents will be available for the Japanese version due out in December, while no decision has been made for the overseas versions.”

He was then asked if Sqaure Enix felt any pressure to compete with the DLC support offered by both Fallout 3 and Mass Effect.

“I do not feel any pressure, we intend to ensure that Final Fantasy titles we produce will be highly appreciated worldwide. Hence we always expose ourselves to inspirations from western products in attempts to digest and apply them for Final Fantasy.”

Final Fantasy XIII hits stores on 9th March, 2010 in Europe and North America.
