Despite getting cancelled by NBC, The Listener will return for a second series thanks to Canada’s CTV network.
The Listener which stars Craig Olejnik as a telepathic paramedic was pulled from the air due to low ratings on its Thursday night slot on NBC.
But, The Listener performed well in the Canadian market and as a result has found itself with a new 13 episode order from CTV.
So, does this mean that US fans of the show won’t get to see the new series?
“We don’t need a U.S. outlet right now, for sure,”
Answered Shaftesbury chairman-CEO Christina Jennings, who went on to add…
“But once the story department starts up in the new years and we get some scripts under our belt, we’ll canvas the U.S. outlets to see. Certainly ‘The Listener’ had fans in the States.”

Glad to see this show back – quite enjoyed it on FX. Hopefully someone will pick it up over here under the new network
