Nic Cage’s Season Of The Witch Trailer
Nicolas Cage has once again teamed up with Gone in 60 Seconds director Dominic Sena to make the medieval horror movie: Season of the Witch, and no; it’s not a remake of Halloween 3.
Season of the Witch sees Nicolas Cage play a 14th century knight who has to transport a suspected witch to a monastery where Monks deduce that the witch is the source of the Black Plague.
Due out on March 19th, 2010, Season of the Witch continues Cage’s recent run of hi-concept movie choices though I can’t help but feel that, judging from the trailer at least, Season of the Witch looks pretty bland.
Cult icons Christopher Lee and Ron Perlman also star and it’s probably a safe bet to assume that one will die and one will be the ‘secret’ bad guy…

Hello Griff,I have my doubts about this and more of Cage’s upcoming performances. Early in Nick Cage’s career he showed promising signs of becoming a good/great actor, and undeniably he has become that. What he lacks though is the ability to become a great “character” on screen – he always looks like he’s acting. Every facial expression looks too made-for-the-camera, rather than an outward display of an inner emotion. Even Gone in 60 Seconds gave me that impression. While you coule relate with the “character’s” sentiment through cage’s performance, I never had the feeling that Cage himself WAS the character. I’m not saying I don’t like his movies I just doubt his abilities to lose himself in the part the way a great actor does. Other actors have been able to bring themselves to the screen and be instantly recognisable as a Jeff Goldblum or a Michael Douglas, even (God forbid) a Tom Cruise – these guys always make it look like the action is happening to Michael Douglas or Tom Cruise, but you still believe them in the role. Cage doesn’t have enough charisma to pull that off so shouldn’t try. I will dust off my 3,4 and 5 out of ten plaques for preview night.
