V for Vendetta and The Invasion director James McTeigue returns to the Box Office with Ninja Assassin, which looks like it could be the most explosive kick ass martial arts movie since, well, since I don’t know…

Produced by the Wachowski Brothers and written by the legendary J. Michael Straczynski whose name seems to be attached to everything lately, Ninja Assassin tells the story of a young ninja who turns his back on the orphanage that raised him which results in a fierce battle with a fellow ninja from his clan.

Sounds like your usual ninja-fights-ninja fare doesn’t it?

But, but, but, but, but!

This one looks seriously special. It seems that McTeigue has dipped into the Wachowski’s Matrix well as some of the fight scenes from the trailer wouldn’t have looked out of place in the Matrix trilogy.

Honestly, if Ninja Assassin wasn’t on your radar before, it should definitely be on there now…
