Rumor! Are Nintendo Getting Ready To Launch A New Wii?
There’s a rumor currently doing the rounds on the Internet that Nintendo are actively reducing the amount of Wii consoles made after some companies involved in the manufacturing process reported a “drop-off” in orders from the Japanese gaming giant.
The rumor was first reported by Nikkei who claim that manufacturers Mitsumi and Hosiden face a 50% drop in income this financial year which many have put down to the decrease in orders from Nintendo.
Although it must be stressed that Nintendo have been quick to respond to the allegations of a decrease in Wii manufacturing…
“we are confident we will be able to satisfy demand for Wii in the UK this peak season”.
That quote is from Nintendo UK and doesn’t really add anything to the rumor…
Now, the drop off in orders could be down to the fact that Nintendo are reaching their maximum saturation point or it could be that Nintendo are planning a new console launch in the not too distant future.
Whatever it turns out to be, we’ll let you know about it as soon as we can…
