SNK’s legendary fighting game franchise makes its big screen debut next year in the Gordon Chan-directed King Of Fighter movie.

King of Fighters turns 16 next year and throughout the years has spawned 12 games which have been released on nearly every major console.

As a rival to the Street Fighter series, King of Fighters was always something that the more hardcore beat ‘em fans tended to gravitate towards (at least that’s how it always seemed to me).

The King of Fighters movie will hit cinemas in 2010 and from the looks of it, it has a very Mortal Kombat feel, in that you get a bunch of fighters who are transported to another world/dimension to test their combat skills against other fighters in order to be crowned ‘The King of Fighters’.

I’m not really sure what to make of this movie, perhaps I’m still recovering from that Dead or Alive piece of crap that came out semi-recently?
