As well as being the new Captain Kirk, Chris Pine will now take on another role made famous by others as he steps into the very considerable shoes of Jack Ryan.

Pine follows Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck as everybody’s favorite CIA operative.

Producer Mace Neufeld confirmed the decision to cast Chris Pine and also gave a brief description of the plot, which is the first Jack Ryan movie to not be based on a Tom Clancy novel…

“We pick him up on Wall Street. But I’m not going to tell you the rest of the story… The Jack Ryan movies have never been action films. They’re kind of ‘thinking man’s thrillers’”.
