Quentin Tarantino: “I Was Offered The Green Lantern”

I love it when you stumble across some mad movie trivia on the web that spins a favorite movie on its head, for example, did you know that Die Hard was originally supposed to be Commando 2?

Now, even though the movie hasn’t even been made yet, this next bit of news is likely reappear a couple of years from now, well after the release of The Green Lantern and people will say, “No way, I didn’t know that…”

I still can’t believe it if I’m honest, “believe what?” you say…

I can’t believe that Quentin Tarantino was originally offered the chance to direct The Green Lantern. The following quote is his own words -

“I was offered the ‘Green Lantern,’ Not since it’s been a script, but just like, ‘Hey we own the ‘Green Lantern.’ Would you like it?’”

Man, I can’t begin to tell you how bad an idea that would have been if he’d said yes. I mean, no, just no, I like Tarantino, he’s actually one of the few directors whose movies I’ll watch just because he made them, but The Green Lantern?

Whoever offered him the movie can’t have ever seen one of his movies. It’s like offering up the Terminator franchise to Woody Allen…
