Rumor! The Vulture Is Circling Spider-Man 4

Movieline has sparked a web-wide rumor concerning the possible baddie for Sam Raimi’s upcoming Spider-Man 4.
For a long while the smart money was on The Lizard getting job, what with Dr. Curt Connors, played by Dylan Baker having already been established, next in line was Mysterio/The Chameleon who would have been played by Bruce Campbell, but if there was one name that seemed to have slipped through the net then it would have to be The Vulture.
But that has now changed…maybe…
Yep, it seems if Movieline’s source is reliable, that The Vulture will be the next bad guy to throw down with Spidey.
At first I was a tad apprehensive when I heard the rumor but then I saw who was rumored to be in talks to play him…
John Malkovich, I mean, is that an awesome piece of casting if it comes off or what?
This reminds me of when Raimi cast Alfred Molina as Doc Oc, it just seemed so perfect, it’s a good strategy too; pick an actors actor to play a superhero villain and your movie will be better for it, just look at Dark Knight for instance, it would have been so easy for Nolan to pick a flavor of the month matinee idol for both Two Face and The Joker, but he didn’t, he went for acting chops and we all know how that turned out.
I hope this rumor is true…
