I’m back. I wrote this column last week, assuming that there wouldn’t be any more news in the coming week, but I didn’t count on Marc Webb being announced as Spider-Man’s new director, So now I’m just gonna wing it…. I thought Raimi’s first Spider-Man was alright, when it came out, and it still has its moments – the second does too; I suppose, but it’s not a movie that I want to ever watch again. I didn’t ‘get’ Tobey as Peter, and I didn’t like any of the other casting except Willem Defoe, I thought the franchise was poor from the ground up, but the third particularly sucked – and no, not the dancing…

Platinum Games Unveil ‘Vanquish’ And It Looks A Lot Like Halo

Platinum Games have unveiled a teaser trailer for their new game ‘Vanquish’ You can find the trailer by clicking the link – http://platinumgames.com/2010/01/29/vanquish-2/ It’s a kick ass trailer by anyone’s standards and looks like it’s borrowed heavily from Halo, in particular the main character is very Master Chief-esque. In the trailer we get to see an alien attack on the US overlaid by the construction of the Master Chief-type character. It’s all very exciting. ‘Vanquish’ is being headed up by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. Not sure yet if it’s exclusive to one console or multi-format. Bioware Are Already Working On Mass Effect 3!

I’m still waiting for my copy of Mass Effect 2 to drop through my letterbox and already Bioware have announced that they have begun work on Mass Effect 3. Talking to CVG yesterday, Bioware’s co-founder Ray Mazyka said… “I don’t think we’ve announced the timing for the third one yet but I can tell you the team’s already working on it. Our goal is to get it out in a time frame that can maximise the quality for our fans, maximise the commercial success for the company and just make sure we do the right thing overall for the long term for the franchise.” Tweet This Post

God Of War 3 Hits Stores In March

God of War 3 will be released in North America on March 16th. While no specific European release date has been revealed, according to the EU Playstation Blog, Sony will be looking to release it in the same week as the US. Happy, happy joy, joy! Clash Of The Titans To Be A Trilogy?

It seems that Warner Bros are thinking about making a trilogy of Clash of the Titans movies. As per usual with big budget movies these days, when a movie the size of Clash of the Titans gets greenlit, the studio concerned is always thinking of making it into a franchise.
