Infamous Psychiatric Hospital Punishes Inmates By Giving Them Wii’s To Play With

broadmoor copyBroadmoor High Security hospital (think Britain’s Arkham Asylum) has issued 22 Nintendo Wii’s to inmates in an effort to keep them fit whilst they undergo treatment.

UK Tabloid The Sun revealed the news and also claim that notorious serial killer The Yorkshire Ripper has even been spotted playing Wii Bowling.

Then the source responsible for the story went all high and mighty on us…

“When you think of their crimes and the misery they have caused, you have to ask if it’s right for society to pay to entertain them. This cash could have been spent improving care in the wider NHS. In the meantime all we hear is laughter as patients play with their new toys.”

I’m not so sure that giving the patients Wii’s is a good thing, I mean, if I was a lawyer representing one of the criminals who received a Wii I’d probably sue the hospital for the violation of their basic human rights coz if having to play Wii’s all day isn’t classed as cruel and unusual punishment then I don’t know what is…

I wonder if any of them have been given a copy of Manhunt 2?
