Sega Not Likely To Release Any More Mature Games For The Wii

segalogoFollowing the poor sales of Sega’s MadWorld and The Conduit, the Japanese gaming giant are unlikely to make any more mature-themed games for the Nintendo Wii.

Constantine Hantzopoulos, Sega of America’s development director spoke to 1UP…

“Are we going to do more mature titles for the Wii? Probably not. It was a space that was open and we took a gamble on it. It’s like, ‘wow there’s no mature games on the Wii, is there an audience out there?’ We did some research and it said that there was an audience out there.”

He refused to lay any blame on Nintendo for the lack of sales both games failed to generate.

“I won’t comment about Nintendo, they did champion The Conduit as ‘this is a Nintendo game’… I think they did OK by us.”

So, it’s back to shovel-ware and Sonic titles for Sega then?
