According to EW’s Nicole Sperling, Paramount have hired Taken director Pierre Morel to direct their upcoming book adaptation and remake of Frank Herbet’s sci-fi classic Dune.

Morel steps in for Peter Berg who walked from the project to concentrate on the board game adaptation; Battleship. (Seriously, I’m not making that up)

According to Sperling, Morel is planning to be “very faithful” to the novel.

At the moment the project is still in the scripting stages.
