Green Lantern Movie Given Green Light

Karen Goulekas, a visual effects supervisor who has worked on The Day After Tomorrow and Spider-Man, has revealed that the Green Lantern movie has been given an official green light.

I’ll let her explain in her own words…

“Wow! Been a long time since I posted! But today is a day worth posting about! Green Lantern got the official green light today! And not a second too soon – only 10 weeks out from shooting! While it’s great news we are a go – now we have to actually get our prep done in 10 weeks! DOH! But we have an amazing crew – so we will make it happen!”

Ryan Reynolds will star as the Green Lantern and we can expect to see him wear the green ring on June 17th, 2011.
