Bethesda Chose Fallout 3 Over A Star Trek RPG

I loved Fallout 3, all 3,337 minutes I had with the game but the news that Bethesda could have given me a Star Trek game instead has left me feeling kinda, I don’t know, um, disappointed?
Like I said, I loved Fallout 3 but would have I preferred to have spent all that time in the Star Trek universe?
Probably.
Anyway, you’re probably wondering what I’m talking about. I’ll just cut to the chase; apparently Bethesda were offered the Star Trek license before they released Fallout3 and turned it down. I’ll let Bethesda’s executive producer Todd Howard explain…
“Nothing was developed internally…There was a pitch to do a big Star Trek RPG. [But] we were doing other things, we made Fallout. We can’t do everything.”
