Call Of Duty MMO On The Way?
When Modern Warfare 2 was released back in November, I seem to recall some exec from Activision mentioning that the giant publisher had plans to somehow turn the Modern Warfare franchise into something that requires its users to pay a monthly subscription feel.
Well, if Destructoid are to be believed, developer Infinity Ward has started work on a Call of Duty MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online), which makes sense when you hold the news up against today’s earlier rumour which suggested that Infinity Ward would not be making any more Modern Warfare games.
Apparently, Infinity Ward have called in the services of ex-World of Warcraft and EverQuest 2 developers to help on an as-yet undisclosed project.
I’d like to state that at this moment time, there is no real substance to this story, it’s firmly within rumour-territory but reading between the lines on this one I’d have to say we’ll get an official announcement in the not-too-distant future confirming the existence of a Call of Duty MMO developed by Infinity Ward.
