Infinity Ward Set To Walk Away From Modern Warfare?
VG247 has claimed that Modern Warfare 2 developers Infinity Ward will not be making Modern Warfare 3.
According to VG247, Infinity Ward are instead going to focus on “something completely new” instead of making another Call of Duty game.
If true, what does that mean for the Modern Warfare franchise?
Personally, I’m quite intruiged as to what Infinity Ward will do next if it’s not Modern Warfare 3. Being such a talented studio, it would be a shame if all we ever got from them were military shooters so I’m kinda hoping they are working on something new. I mean, it’s not as if the Modern Warfare franchise will suffer, I bet there are loads of studios out there who will be able to make a kick ass Modern Warfare 3 that just need someone to take a chance on them, afterall, the blueprint laid down by Infinity Ward should be pretty easy to follow.
Infinity Ward already killed the Medal of Honor franchise once by delivering a fresh take on a stale genre, hopefully next time out they will have the Halo franchise in their sights and go all sci-fi on us.
Halo needs the competition.
