It’s been a bit quiet on the Shazam! front as of late, there’s was a lot of talk about it last summer but since then I haven’t heard a peep.

I just figured the studio had had second thoughts about the movie and was hoping that we’d forget about it.

Well, it worked, I’d completely forgotten about it.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson hasn’t forgotten about it though. He still wants to make the movie. MTV recently caught up with the former wrestling star.

Is Shazam! still in production?

“I don’t know, I can never say that with truth. The truth that I can tell you is that I would love to play Black Adam. There’s a lot of factors in play. The studio will have to decide on that, whoever the director is – hopefully, it will be Pete Segal – who is still very passionate about the project. Both of us are, by the way. I’m not too sure where it’s at right now, but I would love to do it.”

So, no news there then?

Oh well, back to development hell you go…
