Production on the prequel to John Carpenter’s 1982 sci-fi classic The Thing is due to kick off in Mach.

Matthijs Van Heijningen is set direct Eric Heisserer’s script which starts when an alien spaceship is discovered deep underneath the ice near an Antarctica outpost.

Filming takes place in Toronto.
