According to Deadline Hollywood, Stargate Atlantis star Jason Momoa (he played Ronon Dex) has signed on to star as Conan in Macus Nispel’s reboot of the classic comic book character.

While across the net at Latino Review, Mickey Rourke is being tipped to play Conan’s father Corin.

For those who never watched Stargate Atlantis, you might remember Momoa from Baywatch where he played Jason Loane (you can thank IMDB for that knowledge bomb) but other than a few TV series’ that I’ve never heard of, he hasn’t been in much which makes his casting as Conan quite risky.

Still, I always prefer a lesser known actor to play my superheroes, helps with the escapism…
