Lucy Lawless wants to make a movie based on her former TV series Xena: Warrior Princess.
Talking to WENN, the actress said…
“I love that character. I would do it if it was a movie. I doubt I would do it as a TV series. I can’t see how you would make it fresh. By the time somebody does come up with that I’m just going to be too old. And I’m really sad about that. I feel like it’s a completely wasted franchise.”
Personally I don’t think Xena has a snowball’s chance in hell to get the movie treatment, what do you guys think?

okay the series end with her death,however lets just say Ares take her place in avenging the death of 40,0000 souls so that she returns to the mortal world. Now in realaity Kevin Smith is dead so there will not be an appearence of him sad to say, but its just a thought of how to return the warrior.

I agree too with the end of the last season it’s awful and
I don’t watch the last episodes either. And I think they even owe
us a good satisfying ending for Xena and Gabrielle. I ‘m still
hoping it will hapen someday. ‘If Mr Tapert came out and said I
need money his fans would give blood to make the movie happen’ I
would donate for a good cause!
Whos ever owns the rights should allow them to make the movie for the fans as a way of given the fans something back because if it wasn’t for the fans then they would’nt have made most of there money off the show because it wouldn’t have been on air that long if people didn’t watch it. Also who would they get to play them lindsay lohan for gabrielle and zac effron to play xena, who ever they choose wouldn’t do the characters justice because lucy lawless and Renée O’Connor made the charcters there own.
Id have to agree with you, a movie would break the box office. A different ending to reunite two lost friends, and the way they ended Xena was awful, I dont even watch the last two but you still know what happens to her, and Id have to agree with you on cutting off Xenas head bad call. I hope a xena movie gets made and im sure im not the only one. Im sure if you ask Xena fans the movie would be in very high demand and will probly bring in even more fans.
a movie needs to be made, to bring xena back to life and reunite with Gabrelle. The season final was awful, so many heart broken fans still to this day and how many fans did you loose killing her off, Cutting her head off was so cruel, to an icon to so many, what Xena and Gabrelle represent to so many and to not have them together in the end was so wrong on so many levels. A Xena Movie would break the box office.
It’s all about money. All would fall into place with a wholesome budget and big projected profits.
All the sad fans in the world can’t change the situation. And that’s even sadder.
I’m a diehard fan myself. If Mr Tapert came out and said I need money his fans would give blood to make the movie happen.

Yea, its all about who has the rights. And no one knows who holds them. I’m sorry to say that I don’t think writing Tappert will help and that I doubt a movie will ever be made…one that casts Lucy as Xena anyway.

While I cannot give the details, I CAN say at this moment, that my proposal is the perfect and timely answer for a Xena movie. Lucy Lawless and fans will be very happy. Its not about Rob Tapert, its about Universal and the rights, which they hold. Some how I don’t think writing a letter to Tapert is going to do anything.
Lucy Lawless as a New Zealand actress, with connections with Rob Tapert (her husband and creator of Xena) and partner Sam Raimi, it is quite possible that a Xena movie can come up to fruition.
