Underground comedy favorite Adult Swim has given Robot Chicken a two-season pickup.

The Cartoon Network has renewed the comedy series for 40 more episodes, says The Hollywood Reporter. The pickup signals the fifth and sixth seasons for the show, created by Seth Green and Matthew Senreich.

It is thought that high ratings and good DVD sales led to the renewal.

“We never expected to do a second season, let alone a fifth and sixth, so we are thrilled by the audience response and how the show continues to grow internationally,”
