Harrison Ford has signed on to star in Iron Man 2 director; Jon Favreau’s Cowboys and Aliens.

The confirmation of Indiana Jones’ involvement with the project comes from a tweet posted on Jon Favreau’s Twitter feed which went a little something like this…

Please stop asking if Harrison Ford is in Cowboys & Aliens. Okay? He is. Please don’t tell anybody.

For those of you who don’t know; Cowboys and Aliens is a graphic novel series created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg which saw an alien species invade Arizona back in the mid-1800’s with the purpose of enslaving humanity thus forcing sworn enemies; the Cowboys and the Apache to join forces to fight their extra-terrestrial invaders.

As well as Harrison Ford’s involvement, James Bond a.k.a; Daniel Craig has also signed up as well as House star Olivia Wilde.

Cowboys and Aliens is scheduled to hit cinemas on July 29th, 2011.
