Avatar Producer Promises Sequel When They Find A Script “At least as entertaining and unique as the first movie was.”
Avatar producer Jon Landau has been talking to ComingSoon.net about when we can expect to see a sequel to James Cameron’s “biggest movie of all time” Avatar.
According to the producer, the pressure on making Avatar 2 a bigger and better movie than the original is something both he and Cameron feel immensely though Landau is quick to explain that as far as Cameron’s track record with sequels goes, Avatar 2 is in safe hands…
“Look, I think one of the things that we have been successful at is that the most pressure we feel is our own pressure. I think that’s true as we make a movie, whether it be ‘Titanic’ or ‘Avatar.’ Our pressure about an ‘Avatar’ sequel is self-imposed. We’ve always said that if the public wanted a sequel that we would do a sequel. That having been said, in my opinion, Jim has done two sequels in his career, and both times, he has at least equalled if not surpassed the original movie. We’re only going to do it when we have a piece of material, a script, that we believe will be at least as entertaining and unique as the first movie was.”
