Ridley Scott Confirms Not One But TWO Alien Prequel MoviesRidley Scott has confirmed that he is working on not one but TWO Alien prequel movies which, if my math is correct, gives us a Ridley Scott Alien trilogy.

His upcoming Alien prequel will be the first part of his Alien trilogy, with the third and final movie in the trilogy being the original Alien. A second prequel movie will then link the upcoming prequel to the 1979 classic.

How cool is that?

Here’s what Scott had to say when he was asked about the prequels at a recent interview…

“It’ll be prequel one and two. Then Alien 1.’

Well, maybe the Sequel to the Prequel will actually be a Pre-Prequel. He could explore where the Alien originated, etc.

  2. Andy says:

Why doesn’t he go full out ‘George Lucas’ and do 3 prequels. Seriously though, I don’t mind the idea of a prequel but to me 2 seems like stretching it a bit

  3. Mungo says:

More like a Hexology, then. The fourth still counts ^^

  4. jamie says:

Um, Alien is already a Trilogy. Granted, only the first is by Scott, but come on – this makes it like a Douglas Adams trilogy .. of five.

  5. Mungo says:

oh, and with games too. what ever happened to “The End. Thank you for playing”?

apart from that, I’m really looking forward to a new Alien movie by scott.

Why does everything have to be a trilogy or “shot back-to-back” nowadays?
Sure, with LotR it made perfect sense, but it gets kinda old when you sit in theaters and suddenly its to be continued, to be concluded or just a simple cliffhanger.
