Finally – Hugo Weaving Confirmed To Play Red Skull In Captain America
It has long been speculated that The Matrix and Lord of the Rings star Hugo Weaving would play The Red Skull in Marvel Studio’s upcoming Captain America movie but as always with those type of rumours it’s best not to put too much stock into them until it’s been confirmed by the studio involved.
Well, that time has come. A Marvel press release has confirmed that Weaving will indeed face off against Chris Evan’s Captain America as The Red Skull…
Captain America: The First Avenger will be an origin story set during World War 2 which sees Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) join a Super Solider program which turns him from a weak, sickly volunteer into the iconic Captain America who becomes a bright beacon of hope for America during the dark days of the second world war.
Captain America: The First Avenger is directed by Joe Johnston and stars Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Sebastian Stan and Samuel L Jackson. Captain America: The First Avenger hits cinemas on 22nd July, 2012
