Sony Announce Final Fantasy IX Is Coming To The PSN Soon
Sony has announced, via their Playstation.Blog that Final Fantasy IX is headed for the PSN.
Released back in 2000, Square Enix’s Final Fantasy IX was the last numbered Final Fantasy game released on the original Playstation.
Developed alongside Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy IX was well-received by critics upon release and saw you the gamer play as Zidane Tribal, a young thief who joins up with a motley crew of the usual rag-tag Final Fantasy-type personalities to defeat the evil Queen Brahne of Alexandria.
Although as mentioned; Final Fantasy IX was critically well-received, if there was one gripe with the game it was that it was perhaps too similar in style to the older games in the series.
Final Fantasy IX will join Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII which are already available on the PSN. Expect an official announcement regarding the release date to be revealed soon.
We’ll keep you posted.
