Iron Man 2 Scores The Fifth Biggest Opening Weekend Of All Time
Well, it didn’t beat The Dark Knight for the biggest opening weekend of all time but Marvel Studio’s Iron Man 2 still gave a decent account of itself by delivering the fifth biggest opening weekend haul of all time. Iron Man 2’s impressive feat sees it behind only the aforementioned The Dark Knight, Spider-Man 3, Twilight: New Moon and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.
Not too shabby eh?
Taking a whopping $133.6 million, Iron Man 2’s success has set the standard for the rest of the summers blockbusters to follow though don’t be surprised if Iron Man 2’s hearty haul is unmatched come the year’s end
Iron Man 2 is directed by Jon Favreau and stars Robert Downey Jr, Don Cheadle, Mickey Rourke, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sam Rockwell and Samuel L Jackson.
The plot sees Tony Stark (Iron Man) have to contend with the price of being a superhero without a secret identity.
