Are The Xbox 360 And PS3 Getting Price Cuts Later In The Year?
MCV are reporting that a senior publisher source has predicted that both Sony and Microsoft will announce price cuts for their PS3 and Xbox 360 video game consoles later in the year. (Possibly at next month’s E3)
With both Sony and Microsoft releasing new hardware for their consoles; the Playstation Move and Project Natal respectively, it’s quite possible that the unnamed publisher is right.
It is expected that of the two gaming giants, Microsoft are the more likely of the two to announce a price cut as it is thought that they will offer an Xbox 360/Project Natal bundle in order for the console to compete with Nintendo’s Wii.
Some media outlets are predicting that Microsoft will go as far as dropping the price of a single unit Xbox 360 minus the Project Natal to under £100 while an Xbox 360 with the Project Natal motion capturing technology is expected to retail somewhere between £130 and £150.
Expect some announcements to be made at next month’s E3.
