David Fincher Is Eyeing That 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea Remake

The remake of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea seems to be back on track after Fight Club director David Fincher approached Walt Disney Pictures with an interest in getting the movie made after various attempts at getting the remake into production have failed over the past couple of years.

Last year Terminator: Salvation director McG tried to get the project off the ground and was initially awarded a 150 million dollar budget but then somehow the project found itself in development hell.

Well, it now seems that David Fincher is the man to drive the project forward and is thought to currently be in negotiations with Disney to direct.

The original 1954 movie, based on the classic novel by Jules Verne starred iconic actor Kirk Douglas and is considered to be one of Disney’s best live-action movies of all time.

Hopefully this time round 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea will get some decent momentum going as this is one remake that I would love to see.
