Britain’s Got Talent’s Simon Cowell To Become A Sir?
Britain’s Got Talent creator and Music mogul Simon Cowell is apparently in line to receive a knighthood for his contribution to the music industry.
Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown is thought to have requested Cowell’s knighthood before he resigned last week in the hopes that Cowell would get the recognition his achievements within the music industry and in particular his fundraising efforts deserve.
Last year Cowell told the UK tabloid; The Daily Mirror that he didn’t expect to ever get a knighthood…
“I’d say my chances of being knighted were zero, in fact, below zero. But I never did all this to get a knighthood. I am very lucky to do what I do and feel privileged.”
Simon can currently be seen in the current season of Britain’s Got Talent which in some corners of the web people seem to think will be his last season though he is expected to return for the new season of X-Factor later in the year.
We should know soon if Simon will get the knighthood as the Queen’s Birthday Honours list is in June.
