Captain Kirk himself; the one and only William Shatner has signed up to CBS’s upcoming sitcom based on the popular Twitter feed: S#*! My Dad Says.

The Twitter feed that the sitcom will be based on is owned by 29 year old Justin Halpen who after moving in with his 74-year old father was constantly amazed him with the ridiculous things he would say. Figuring the world needed to hear what his dad had to say; Halpern opened a Twitter account and started tweeting his quotes.

The success of the Twitter account even spun off into a best-selling book which brought it to the attention of CBS executives.

Ryan Devlin, who can be seen in Courtney Cox’s Cougar Town has signed up to play Shatner’s son.

To play us out I thought I share with you a couple of my favourite Tweets…

On cell phones –

“Son, no one gives a shit about all the things your cell phone does. You didn’t invent it, you just bought it. Anybody can do that.”

On his son going bald -

“Remember how you used to make fun of me for being bald?…No, I’m not gonna make a joke. I’ll let your mirror do that.”

On new born babies –

“The baby will talk when he talks, relax. It ain’t like he knows the cure for cancer and he just ain’t spitting it out.”
