Square Enix and Yahoo Japan have announced that at some time today they will reveal a brand new game that will change Japanese history.

Over a month ago Sonia Im; the assistant director of Square PR promised that the game would cause us gamers to be both “shocked and stoked” which personally would be a new experience for me.

What we know or think we know right now is that the game will be some sort of cross-promotion with the Japanese search engine and in most likelihood won’t contain anything of any real value to the West but Square Enix has both the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest franchises and the assumption is that the upcoming reveal will be a tie-in of sorts to one of those franchises.

Anyway, this is pure speculation at this point and we won’t know until later today but whatever it is they have planned, it’s pretty damned intriguing…
