Microsoft have unveiled a brand new animated series set in the Crackdown universe.

For those of you out there who are not gamers, Crackdown is an Xbox 360 exclusive open-world third person shooter which sees you control a super-powered cop in the futuristic and fictional Pacific City.

According to the video game website CVG, the new animated mini-series will air on Youtube in five parts.

Written by Ed Campbell and illustrated by Alex Ronald, the Crackdown mini-series will be set between the first Crackdown game and its upcoming sequel Crackdown 2 and show what has happened to Pacific City since the events of the first game.

Crackdown the animated series will run until June 21st, on Machinima’s Youtube channel.

Crackdown 2 will be released for the Xbox 360 on July 9th.
