I’ve been looking forward to the new Splatterhouse remake since it was announced two years ago. Since then I’ve been constantly performing Google searches on it and have managed to stay up to date with the game’s production.

You could say that Splatterhouse is one of my most anticipated video games of this year. Well, you could have said that before but you can’t say it now.

This new trailer for Splatterhouse has somehow managed to turn me off the game. I mean sure, the chances of Splatterhouse being a triple A title were always going to be slim but I figured I’d like the game in much the same way I did that Treyarch-developed James Bond game a while back; in that it would be fun for a couple of hours, maybe even get a weekend out of it.

But after that trailer…

Now I just don’t know. To me the game looks like a messy God of War rip-off. I could be wrong; I probably am, I mean, I usually am with things like this.

I’ll make a prediction though – Splatterhouse, a week after release, will be sitting on a low to mid sixty average on Metacritic.
