Billy Elliot To Be The Next Spider-Man?
Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell is apparently among the candidates to take over the Spider-Man role in Marc Webb’s upcoming Spider-Man reboot.
According to The Hollywood Reporter the British actor has had meetings with Webb although as of yet, no filmed tests have taken place.
Bell, who also starred in Peter Jackson’s King Kong is up against a couple of other young actors who are all lobbying for the iconic star-making role. Bell’s apparent rivals for the gig are Andrew Garfield (he played the reporter in Red Riding), Frank Dillane (from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and Alden Ehrenreich.
Out of the above named actors, Bell is perhaps the best known by the general public which in my opinion, could end up counting against him.
Marc Webb’s Spider-Man reboot will focus on a young Peter Parker as he tries to cope with the loss of his uncle and his new-found superpowers.
