Could Microsoft be planning on calling what we currently know as Project Natal the Wave?

Well, that’s what the internet rumours are suggesting. NowGamer is reporting that a source close to Microsoft has confirmed that the motion camera’s final name will be the Wave.

So, is this true?

Well, it’s hard to say, we know that Microsoft are only using the name Project Natal as a place-holder but I always had the sneaky suspicion that they would stick with the name as everyone knows it by now and a name-change, this late in the game, would probably confuse a lot of people.

Still, it could happen but the Wave?

Didn’t Google just announce something called the Google Wave?

Now that would be confusing, a Google Wave and an Xbox Wave.

Whatever Microsoft decides to call it we’ll know within a couple of weeks because they’ll announce it at E3. Until then I expect a few more sites to “exclusively” reveal Project Natal’s secret identity.
