Former Microsoft Exec Thinks Project Natal Will Fail

Scot Bayless, the former studio manager at Microsoft reckons that Project Natal (or whatever it is Microsoft are calling their motion capturing add-on for the Xbox 360) will fail unless they adapt their sales strategy.

Bayless, who has worked for EA, Midway and Capcom was also part of the Sega team who launched the ill-fated 32X Mega Drive add-on in America. In subsequent years it is believed the 32X failed mainly because it could only be sold to existing Mega Drive owners which excluded a huge chunk of the video game market.

Talking to Retro Gamer, Bayless said…

“When I met with Microsoft in 2008 to look at Natal I asked “When will you integrate this into the 360?’”

He added…

“Their response was ‘We’re probably going to wait and see on that’. To which I said ‘Then you’re going to fail’.”

So, what do you guys think, will Project Natal fail?
