FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, Issues Public Apology
The pressure was increasing continuously and eventually he had to give in to some extent. FIFA boss, Sepp Blatter, officially apologized to Mexico and England for the obvious errors that were made by some of the referees during World Cup soccer matches, which included the dismissal of evident goals. Unlike past appearances, where Blatter vehemently objected to any notion of introducing video and replay technology – similar to the “Hawk Eye” that has become a state of the art tool on the Tennis ATP tour – he finally gave in to re-opening the discussion. During a press briefing he announced the addition of the introduction of supporting technology to the July agenda of the International…
Unemployment Benefits Running Out for Millions of Jobless
“The reality is that we have the worst job market on record going back to the Great Recession,” policy co-director at National Employment Law Project, Maurice Emsellem, said. “There’s only one job available for every five unemployed workers.” “For anybody that has a thought in their head that unemployed workers are to blame for their situation, the reality is that workers are struggling hard to find work, but the jobs are just not there.” On Tuesday, the House shot down an unemployment extension with Senate Republicans blocking it with a 57-14 vote. According to People.com, Beth Ostrosky-Stern does not think her husband will fill Simon Cowell’s very large loafers. “I think would be great,” she told People.com. “But do I think it’s going to happen? No.” “I’m so lucky that I get to sit next to him when we watch ‘American Idol’ every week,” said Ostrosky-Stern. “I’m in stitches, he’s so funny but yet he’s very serious about it. And he’s also a big cheerleader for the contestants and he’s very honest.” On Stern’s radio show, he has made it pretty clear that he is not really interested in the job. Back in May he told his audience, “There’s not a better job on the planet than…
