Midnight Run star Charles Grodin has revealed that he was offered a role in the new Muppets movie but turned it down.

Grodin, who walked away from acting back in 1993 to spend more time with his family told Deadline that he snubbed offers to appear in the upcoming Muppet movie reboot.

Here’s what he had to say…

“I just turned down the new Muppet movie. I was in The Great Muppet Caper and I think they are bringing back those of us still alive for a reprise. Jim Henson was dear to me but I’m not flying 6,000 miles to Los Angeles to work one day.”

Although he isn’t prepared to come back for the new Muppet movie, which is being directed by Jason Segel, he did express an interest in one movie in particular…

The proposed Midnight Run 2 which will see Robert De Niro reprise his role of the bounty hunter Jack Walsh…

“I’ve been led to believe by someone I won’t name that they will ask me and I will consider it. I always assumed they’d go with a young actor.”
