No Campaign Co-Op For Call Of Duty: Black Ops
Remember all the talk about Call of Duty: Black Ops having four player co-op?
Well, it seems that it’s going to operate in much the same way as the Spec Ops mode did in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, in that you won’t be able to gather four chums and blast your ways through the campaign mode.
The four player co-op mode will be separate from the main game. Talking to MTV, Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia explained…
“single-player is the epic, cinematic, seat-of-your-pants thrill ride that you star in,”
Adding that the co-op multiplayer can be found in…
“unique co-op modes.”
Laimia repeated the claim at the recent Activision press conference where he said…
“The game will also feature distinct multiplayer and co-op modes, and though specifics regarding our co-op mode have not yet been revealed I can tell you that we’ll be delivering a unique online co-op mode for up to four players, with local split-screen for two.”
I don’t know what to make of this. What I liked about Treyarch’s previous Call of Duty effort; World at War was the fact that I could gun through the campaign with a mate. Yeah, I liked the Nazi Zombie mode but I didn’t spend as much time with it as I did blasting through the campaign with a buddy.
