Amanda Bynes Retires from Acting
Known for her sketch comedy shows, “All That” (1996) and “The Amanda Show” (2000), both airing on the Nickelodeon network, the actress and comedienne announced on Twitter that she is retiring from acting at the age of 24.
“I know 24 is a young age to retire, but you heard it here first,” Bynes tweeted. “I’ve retired.” She also wrote on Twitter, “Being an actress isn’t as fun as it may seem. If I don’t love something anymore, I stop doing it. I don’t love acting anymore, so I’ve stopped doing it.”
Bynes was named one of Teen People’s “25 Hottest Stars Under 25” in 2006 and in 2007 made the Forbes list for being the 5th highest paid celebrity under the age of 21, earning $2.5 million.
Bynes has a movie that is due out on September 17 called, “Easy A.” If she is true to her tweet, this will be her final film project.
