Hundreds of people lined the street in Times Square this morning awaiting the opening of the Apple Store. Some had taken their place three days ago. What is the attraction? These folks want to be the first proud owners of the Apple iPhone 4.

Destined to be a success of epic proportions, will the latest version of this popular electronic live up to its hype?

Reportedly, there are a few shortcomings that one should be aware of before making this expensive purchase. For one, the camera is not as powerful as competitor’s versions. They are keeping their 5-megapixel model. This seems skimpy, especially since Verizon and Motorola will be introducing an 8-megapixel camera on their phones.

In addition to the shortages in availability of these phones, other features that are lacking may turn you away to a different model. These shortcomings include: no Swype and limited video calling. If you are a Verizon user, you are still out of luck, Apple maintains their exclusive partnership with AT&T until at the earliest next year, if at all.
