Chicago will be a buzz this summer with the filming of the third installment in the Transformers franchise. Reportedly, the production will pump an estimated $20 million into the local economy. In addition, 200 jobs will be created.

Crews will be filming in the streets which will create traffic jams as a result.

The production schedule to date is as follows:

Friday, July 9 from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM on Monday, July 12
LaSalle Street from Jackson to Randolph
Washington from Wells to Clark
Randolph from Wacker to Wells

Thursday, July 16 from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM on Monday, July 19
Michigan Avenue from Wacker to Ohio/Ontario

Sunday, July 18 from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM on Thursday, July 22
Wacker between Michigan and Wabash

Megan Fox, Shia LaBeouf’s love interest, has been dropped from the franchise. A rep told People magazine, “Megan Fox will not be starring in Transformers 3. It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best.”
