Ghana defeats US Team in 2010 Soccer World Cup

It took them 123 minutes to seal the deal. But in the end, the Ghana soccer team triumphantly beat the US boys by 2:1 during the extra time of the extra time.

Both teams kept up a high pace right from the start of the match. But Ghana’s Prince scored in the fifth minute with an impressive shot, leaving the US goalie, Howard, with no chance to block it. The teams went into the halftime break and the United States team came back strong. They dominated the match for long periods and steadily increased the pressure.

In the 60th minute Dempsey was fouled. Donovan converts the subsequent penalty kick to tie the score to a 1:1 which lasted through the regular playing time.

Under the watchful eyes of ex-US president, Bill Clinton and rock icon, Mick Jagger, Ghana took the lead back in the 92nd minute and managed to hold on until the match ended.
