The Backstreet Boys and Korn blazed the trail of boycotting BP during their summer tours. Many other artists are following their lead.

Also avoiding BP for alternative fueling options are Lady Gaga, Creed, Godsmack, Disturbed, Rise Against, Slightly Stoopid, Rob Zombie, Megadeth, Black Label Society with Zakk Wylde, Anthrax, Filter, Hellyeah and Flogging Molly. Estimates are already showing that over 100 musician-owned vehicles are involved with more joining in everyday.

“We have so many friends that are now affected by this spill that unless BP spends whatever is needed their livelihoods are lost forever…we are encouraging everyone we deal with to find alternative ways to get down the road this summer.” said Kevin Lyman, Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival tour director in an interview.

Korn’s Jonathan Davis is asking other artists to become part of the boycott because of the disaster that is occurring in the Gulf of Mexico, “This is the worst thing that has ever happened to the environment in US history.”
