Jennifer Hudson Talks About her Tragedy
Tonight’s episode of VH1’s, “Behind the Music” will feature Hudson speaking about the 2008 tragedy that tore her family apart. It is a year and a half since her mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson, 57, her 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, and her older brother, Jason, 29, were gunned down in her mother’s home in Chicago. William Balfour, Hudson’s brother-in-law committed the murders.
In November of 2008, only one-month after the horrifying events, Hudson wrote on her MySpace page, “I want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. My sister and I take great comfort and strength from your love and concern.”
Tonight’s episode will delve into how she was able to pull her life together and move past the unspeakable events. She has found happiness with her fiancé, David Otunga with whom the couple have a son, David Jr.
Jennifer Hudson won an Academy Award for her breakthrough role in the smash movie-musical, “Dream Girls.”
