Miss Daisy is Driving to Broadway

Tony Award winners Vanessa Redgrave and James Earl Jones will co-star in the premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, “Driving Miss Daisy.” The production, penned by Alfred Uhry, will begin performances on October 7th. The official opening of the production is set for October 25th at the John Golden Theatre, it was reported. The original off-Broadway production opened in 1987 and in 1989 became a successful movie starring Morgan Freeman and Jessica Tandy. The film, directed by Bruce Beresford, won four Academy Awards. The former tennis star was checked into a hospital near Palm Beach, Florida on Sunday morning after overdosing on prescription drugs. It was reported that Capriati, winner of 14 career titles that included three Grand Slams and 1992 Olympic gold medal, was depressed over her tennis career and about her ex-boyfriend returning to porn.
