James Cameron To Release Titanic 3D On The Hundred Year Anniversary Of The Tragedy

Isn’t it interesting to note that while most movie studios allow eight weeks to do a 3D conversion for their blockbusters; James Cameron, when he decides to do one, allows himself almost two years.

Yep, come April 2012, James Cameron and Fox Studios will release Titanic in glorious 3D.

Back in March, Cameron was pretty peeved about the way studios have been handling the 3D conversion process. His attention in particular was on the Clash of the Titans remake which was given the 3D conversion greenlight deep into post production. Here’s what he said at the time…

“They ignore the fact that we natively authored the film (Avatar) in 3-D, and decide that what we accomplished in several years of production could be done in an eight week conversion. They’ll be putting out an inferior product.”

Titanic 3D will be very interesting. So far 3D conversions have been a bit of a mixed bag, some are okay while others are meh, what will a James Cameron 3D conversion be like?
